GPS-PNT Communications Engineer (entry level)


The successful candidate with have directly applicable experience in one or more disciplines of GPS, PNT, and/or Communications engineering. This position reports to the PreTalen Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Supervisor in support of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver integration, GNSS receiver testing and the PANACEA virtual GNSS test system onsite support. This support includes the ability to perform hardware-in-the-loop testing by integrating hardware and assets with software tools, and the ability to articulate simulation/test results. A successful candidate has a high interest in GNSS and GNSS receivers. The successful candidate must be comfortable dealing with requirements changes, be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Provides technical onsite support for all PreTalen products – training provided

  • Provides technical demonstrations and explains Pretalen product capabilities to customers

  • Develops GNSS receiver software controllers for use in PANACEA and RxStudio

  • Understands and implements all aspects of the software development lifecycle – material provided

  • Actively participates in all PANACEA hardware and software verification testing efforts

  • Understands the GNSS RF environment and GNSS Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) threats

  • Develop PANACEA and RxStudio user and test documentation



  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent

  • Ability to work independently/efficiently and to thrive in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Strong interest in GNSS and GNSS Receivers

  • Strong communications skills

  • Some experience in Satellite Remote Sensing or Communications

  • US Citizen and ability to acquire/retain a security clearance



  • 1-3 years’ experience in GPS-PNT-Communications engineering (preferably in GNSS)

  • 1-3 years’ experience in Hardware Serial Communications

  • Strong working knowledge of C# or the knowledge of a similar language with the ability to learn quickly

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with an emphasis in GPS-PNT-Communications-oriented topics or wireless communications

  • Active security clearance
